Belgium welcomes the Uncitral model law in its new arbitration law

Abstract: This article analyzes the Belgium Law of 24.06.2013, entering into force on 1 September 2013. With its new arbitration law, Belgium becomes the 67th Model Law Country, acquiring a new status in the arbitration landscape. The article focusses on the study of the provisions of the Uncitral Model Law that were adopted by the Belgian law, and also focusses on the main features of typical Belgian arbitration practice.
